April 16, 2021, Release

21R1

Today’s release includes the new features and changes below. These updates allow you to answer questions on forms, to decline forms, to view dates and times in an easier way, and to view application text in Spanish.

Declining a consent form

You can now decline consent forms. To do so, select I don’t want to sign this document in the banner at the top of the form then confirm that you want to decline in the dialog box.

After you decline a form, we show you when you declined it on your list of documents to review and on the My Documents page. You can also view and download declined forms in the same ways you view and download signed ones.

See the Declining Consent Forms section on the Consent Forms page for more information.

Answering a required question

You can now answer questions on consent forms if the study site includes them. If a question is required, you have to answer the question before you can sign the document, similar to how you have to display all sections of the form.

See the Answering Questions on Consent Forms section on the Consent Forms page for more information.

Enhancements Changed

The following enhancements are available with this release:

Area Description
General You can now view application text in Spanish. To do so, set Spanish as the first preferred language in your browser settings. This applies to only the application text and not consent forms. Your site coordinator selects the language of the consent form.
General The password requirements are now displayed on a list before you begin to enter a password on the registration and password reset pages. As you type, we change the requirements to red error messages or green checkmarks to show you whether you’ve met the criteria. Additionally, the text is updated on the password and verification pages to help you through the process.
General When you refresh the confirmation page that we display when you ask to reset your password, we now display an error message that redirects you to your email or the login page. Previously, we redisplayed the Forgot Password page.
Consent Forms We now mark sections as read on the table of contents when you view the section. Previously, we required you to scroll to the bottom of a section before it was marked as read and you could sign the document.
Consent Forms When you haven’t completed all the sections of a form and you try to sign it, we now flash the sections you need to go back to with an orange border. This can include sections you haven’t viewed and required questions you haven’t answered.
Consent Forms When you submit a consent form, the date we add to the form now includes the time and time zone based on your device settings. Previously, only the date was added and it was added when you clicked to sign.
Consent Forms We now display the dates that indicate when you signed or declined a form as how long ago you completed the action, for example, 2 days ago. You can hover over the text to view the specific date and time.
