August 6, 2021, Release

21R2

Today’s release includes the new features and changes below. These updates allow you to more easily consent to participate in a study in-person and to view images on consent forms.

Example QR code

You can now consent to participate in a study in person more easily by scanning a QR code instead of accessing your invitation email. If your study coordinator shows you a QR code, you can scan the code with your or their device’s camera to access MyVeeva for Patients. If you have an account, you can log in, and if you don’t, you can register. Once you’ve logged in, we’ll show you the consent forms for the study.

See the following topics for more information:

Images example

You can now view images on consent forms if the study site includes them. You can use your mobile device’s functionality to zoom in and pan around the image as needed. You can also use a screen reader to hear the images’ alternative text if the study site included it.

See Reviewing Consent Forms for more information.

Enhancements Changed

Area Description
Patient UI - General You can now view the MyVeeva for Patients terms of service and privacy policy in Spanish. To do so, set Spanish as the first preferred language in your browser settings.
eConsent - Patient Documents on the My Documents page are now sorted by the date you completed them on within each study. Previously, the documents were sorted by their names.
eConsent - Patient We updated the style of tooltips to make them easier to read when you position your mouse's pointer over an item or press an item on a touchscreen.
eConsent - Patient You can now submit documents more quickly. When you submit a document, we process it and send it to the site in the background so you can continue to use the application. Previously, you may have needed to wait longer while the document was processed and sent to the site.
eConsent - Patient When you read through a section of an eConsent form, we now scroll the table of contents to keep the current subsection highlighted and in view.
eConsent - Patient You can now view videos on eConsent forms if the study site includes them. You can view videos in full-screen mode, and you can also view them in picture-in-picture mode if your device supports it.
Patient Signup & Login Your account is now specific to your region (for example, the US or EU), which means your data is stored nearer to where you live. You don't need to remember the region for your account because we'll send you to the right one from emails, and you can enter your email on the global login page to be redirected to your region. Additionally, you can now have your email remembered for the next time you log in on your device.
